Executive Summary
The target of this study to cover and summarize the logistics infrastructure and resources assessment on going in Iraq. It aims to submit all required suggestions and providing the logistics process to meet the client goals to achieve the projects in good conditions on arrival to the final destination during the logistics operations. This report was commissioned to share why some entry points are better than others based on the customs requirements and low handling fees comparing to other entry points.
The report draws attention to the fact that the main two ports in Iraq are Umm Qasr and Khor Al Zubair; Umm Qasr Port is more efficient than Khor Al Zubair based on below comparison (Table1) which will be deliberated details in our study.
According to the existing key information in this study, Umm Qasr is the most important port in Iraq due to availability of facilities, bearing capacity and logistics offices which can make the process very easy for all parties. South Oil Company is encouraging all International Oil Company to utilize Khor Al Zubair port to avoid a congestion at Umm Qasr Port.
Study Background
Cross East has been awarded many logistics contracts from SOC, BHI, ZPEC, HH, Aramex to provide logistics services. Recently, Cross East Co was awarded the Logistics,Resources and Infrastructure (LIRA) contract for the provision of logistics operation services study. Below are key points of this study:
